Service Dress Uniform (Dienstanzug)

 

*Below are the standards of the Reporting Dress Uniform found in the 1935-1936 Das Rekrut manual.

For the dress uniform personal clothing and equipment that conforms to regulations may also be worn or carried.

Service cap

Jacket (Service coat)

Long cloth trousers, white linen trousers

Overcaot

No more than 0.5 cm of the cravat, linen collar and cuffs may be visible

Gray or white gloves

Shoes

Belt

Bayonet tassel, sword knot

Sidearm

Spurs (for riders)

Jackets and overcoats must always be worn fully buttoned. Watch chains, etc., must not be visible. When remaining in enclosed spaces, remove your cap. In theaters and other buildings where hats and overcoats are usually removed, soldiers must also remove their hats, overcaots, and sidearms (but only in a guarded cloakroom!).
